The Black Gown
by Paolo Tabbi
Childhood trauma can have lifelong effects. Especially when its about sexual abuse. Speaking up and seeking help is always better than blaming yourself forever.
Suffering abuse at the hands of those closest to you is unimaginable but not impossible. People who were supposed to look after you turn out to be the ones who destroy your childhood. After remaining silent for too long, Paolo Tabbi finally shares his experience of going through sexual abuse to reach out to every other child who might have or would be going through the same or even worse. Children are naïve and innocent. Seldom do they know what’s going on, and its too late by the time they realize it. ‘The Black Gown’ aims to serve as solace for people and let them know that they’re not alone, while motivating them to speak up about the abuse.
Paolo Tabbi came to Canada at a very young age. He traveled from town to town and city to city in search of peace as his imagination tends to run wild. He finally found the inner solace when he decided to confront the monsters kept long hidden in his closet and speak up about the abuse he suffered from a very early age. Paolo spends most of his time in the kitchen cooking delicious meals for his family and friends, and enjoys their compliments fully.
